Residential Landscape Design & Installation

A whole property, planned and built as one job rather than a series of unrelated ones. Design first, then the work, in an order that makes sense for the ground and the season.

Most landscapes that disappoint were not badly built. They were built in the wrong order, or without anyone deciding where the water was going to go. A design stage is what stops that.

How a project runs

We start on site, not on paper: what the ground does, where water arrives and leaves, what the light is like, and what you actually want to use the space for. From that comes a plan you can look at and change before anything is dug.

Construction then follows that plan in sequence — drainage and grading, then hardscape, then soil and planting, then finishes. Doing it in that order is what keeps a crew from undoing its own work.

Designing for this climate

Freeze-thaw, break-up and a short building season change what is worth doing here. Bases go deeper. Drainage is not optional. Planting is chosen for what survives a hard winter rather than what looks good in a catalogue photographed somewhere else.

What this includes

  • Complete residential landscape transformations
  • Site assessment and a measured plan
  • Grading and drainage settled before anything is built
  • Hardscape: walls, patios, walkways and steps
  • Softscape: lawn, beds, trees and shrubs
  • One crew, start to finish

How a project runs

  1. 01 Consultation We come out, walk the property and listen to what you want the space to do.
  2. 02 Plan and quote A plan and a price you can look at and change before anything is dug.
  3. 03 Build Drainage and grading first, then hardscape, then soil and planting — in that order.
  4. 04 Walkthrough We hand it over in person and explain what it needs to stay the way it looks.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a full design, or can you just build one thing?

Either. Plenty of projects are a single patio or wall. A design stage earns its keep when several things are happening at once, or when drainage and levels affect more than one part of the property.

When should I get in touch for summer work?

As early as you can. The building season here is short, so the projects that run calmly are usually the ones designed over the winter. We take consultations year round.

Do you work with commercial and HOA properties?

Yes. Residential, commercial and HOA properties are all part of what we do, including ongoing maintenance once a landscape is in.
